Chiropractic Care at Equinox Health and Healing

Chiropractic is the art and science of detecting, locating, and removing the subluxation complex. The subluxation complex is a compromise of the neural integrity of the central nervous system. This is caused by vertebral misalignment or soft tissue inflammation. Chiropractors believe that if the human body is subluxation free, meaning free from nerve interference, then the body’s inherent healing potential will promote and restore wellness.

There are a variety of techniques used by chiropractors, including but not limited to, joint manipulation and mobilization, soft tissue stretching, trigger point pressure, myofascial release, exercises, and education. You can discuss with your chiropractor which techniques would be best for your particular situation/condition.

Dr. Patricia Wentworth (pictured at right) practices chiropractic at Equinox. A New England native, she began her career as a certified athletic trainer and taught sports medicine at secondary, collegiate, and clinical levels for 20 years. In 1998 Dr. Wentworth received her doctoral degree in chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. Dr. Wentworth joined Equinox in June of 2001. She was drawn to the concept of integrative medicine and the fact that the patient’s healthcare is team focused. Dr. Wentworth is accepting new patients and is a participating provider in the Anthem and Cigna networks. Please inquire with your health plan regarding your insurance benefit for chiropractic.
