Each therapy program begins with a comprehensive evaluation and development of a treatment plan based on physician’s order and the patient's particular goals, circumstances and lifestyle. The Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation team maintains close communication with your referring physician throughout your course of therapy.
Rehabilitation can address a specific need, for example, to stabilize walking and improve strength and range of motion following joint replacement, or it can require a multidisciplinary approach to address a broad range of functional and medical needs; a stroke survivor may need to strengthen a weakened side and enhance memory and thinking skills. Treatment programs are designed to meet each patient's specific needs.
In addition to individualized therapy, Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation therapists draw upon leading edge clinical resources to meet the needs of each patient. For example, it may be beneficial for a patient to meet with another expert to discuss management of diabetes or osteoporosis.
