In addition to offering a comprehensive program in speech, language, cognitive and swallowing therapy, Exeter Healthcare also offers a unique approach to treating voice disorders.
Evaluation and treatment of voice disorders often begins at an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) office. The Speech Therapists at Exeter Healthcare work in conjunction with Drs. Azar and Ihm of Comprehensive Otolaryngology (also located on the Exeter Hospital campus) to provide patients with a thorough diagnostic evaluation.
Often this includes a procedure called videostroboscopy in which the patient’s vocal cords are viewed under a strobe light with a camera. This is a great way to view and evaluate the vocal cords. Once the patient is diagnosed they can continue their speech/voice therapy services to address their problems as an outpatient at Exeter Healthcare. |
